The most economically free nations
in the Arab World
This year’s Economic Freedom of the Arab World report, published by the Fraser Institute, gives joint first place to Jordan and the United Arab Emirates, while Algeria is last. The factors for the report include size of government, security of property rights, and regulation. Economic freedom in the region is crucial, as the lack of it was the catalyst for the Arab Spring.
