- Last night, US warplanes struck Raqqa, the Islamic State's de facto capital, and other targets.
- Expanding the target menu to Syria is welcome, but President Obama's way of war is self-defeating.
- The airstrikes against Raqqa, for example, come almost two weeks after Obama gave a speech announcing that the US would conduct airstrikes inside Syria and long after US drones were spotted over Raqqa, presumably gathering intelligence.
- Even a "jayvee team" can recognize the signs that air strikes are coming and evacuate obvious targets, like their de facto headquarters.
