What You Should Know About the Ukraine War From a Journalist on the Front Lines
by Genevieve Wood
Americans generally don't understand the potential for the Ukraine war to spread to larger parts of Europe, warns Daily Signal foreign correspondent Nolan Peterson.
The war in Ukraine is “a real war,” says a journalist who has spent months on the front lines and embedded with the Ukrainian army. And yet, notes The Daily Signal’s foreign correspondent, Nolan Peterson (1), most other American news outlets don’t cover the intensity of the 2-year-old conflict.
“The media tends to downplay the seriousness of what’s at stake there,” the former Air Force special operations pilot told me in an on-camera interview.
One result? Americans generally don’t understand the potential for the war to spread to larger parts of Europe, Peterson says, especially because Russia “created this problem.”
Watch as Peterson shares his thoughts on the strong pro-American sentiment among Ukrainians, who he says are “looking to us for help.”
