Crime: the antidote is morality
Parents and schools are the only institutions
that can help to reduce offences.
Steven Grisales, a trainee architect, was murdered by a 15-year-old schoolboy whom he told to stop throwing conkers. As the detective who investigated the crime noted, the killer showed “no remorse and continually lied about his involvement”. Murder, especially by teenagers, is mercifully very rare, so the unnamed killer, who was convicted last week, cannot be taken as typical of criminals of his age group – except in one respect: his contempt for other people, and the total lack of any moral sense that it demonstrates.
