If a Trump administration curbs US leadership, the true risk is the world splintering.


The real isolationist danger isn't China

As with any administration, critics of President-elect Donald Trump make some good points. But they're also prone to getting the story wrong — sometimes in crucial ways. One standout example is the fear that Trump is ceding global leadership to China. This is absurd. China may not be able to lead northeast Asia, much less the world. If a Trump administration curbs US leadership, the true risk is the world splintering.
